Drilling techniques: How to drill granite concretes



Here's my tips in drilling granite concretes using Diamond Core Bit drill. Stuffs needed: 3 cm granite, Wet polisher, Dry Masonry or Wet diamond core bit drill and water suction cup.

Steps when drilling granite concrete without water:

  • Touch the granite with an angle then move straight gradually.









  • Drill speed between 2000 – 4000 RPM (Rotation per minute)









  • Apply some pressure. Let the core bit do the work.

  • Move the bit in a circular motion to let dust out.









  • Apply less pressure before drilling through









  • You can drill a hole in less than a minute









  • Steps when drilling granite concrete with water:

  • When not using center water feed, use a suction cup with pour water.









  • Drill a shallow mark first.

  • Use water suction cup to contain water.









  • Water will cool down the core bit and extend its life.









  • Move the bit in circular motion to let slurry regiments out.









  • Reduce pressure in the end.
