Hardwood floors makes your home feel inviting and that sense of “Warm welcome” to anyone who visits. You may also like to install them either contemporary or traditional home design.
Though as awesome as using your hardwood for the main flooring, some fear in applying them to their houses.
Maybe these are the facts that they heard about:
- Solid wood flooring is 100% hardwood that is milled from lumber which is this type of wood reacts to changes in moisture and extreme temperatures, which can cause it to shrink or expand.
- All solid hardwood can be smooth and refinished if necessary over the years so they do last forever - though of course, maintenance is a pain for some.
- Using wood on stairs is incredibly elegant and a beauty but noisy when someone is walking over.
- Safety is also an issue since wood stairs are slippery, unlike the carpeted floors. A wood stair with a runner up the middle will solve those problems.
Here are some PROS in using Hardwood Flooring
- Consider engineered wood flooring. It is built up of layers of wood consisting of three to 10 layers that are glued together.
- This multi-ply structure gives engineered wood superior stability, which reduces concerns associated with shrinking and expanding when temperature and humidity change.
- Engineered wood can be installed in kitchens and in bathrooms so no worries there.
Consider laminate flooring.
It has four layers consisting of a wear layer, a design layer, an inner core layer and a backing layer. This layered construction makes laminate floors remarkably durable. And it looks very much like a regular hardwood floor. Hard flooring surfaces are allergy sufferer friendly. Allergens like pet dander and dust tend to build up in carpet and even with frequent vacuuming, the allergens can still be there. Those allergens don’t have as many hiding places in hardwood floors. Another pro: A house with hardwood floors will usually have an advantage over one that has other flooring when it comes to real estate sales.Tags: flooring, floorings, hard wood, hardwood, Hardwood Floors, wood
